Hey There

The app developer, Anita.

I'm Anita and I am a polymer clay addict.  I mostly love making canes and veneers and anything with pattern and texture.  I have dabbled in making silkscreens and have made a few video tutorials.  My absolute favorite thing about polymer clay is the community around it.  I love my polymer friends.

My husband, Ed, and I are retired and live in Louisville KY with our two sweet Shih Tzus, Rah Rah and CoCo.  Our children are grown and we have a very sweet, smart, and creative grandson who is the apple of my eye!

How PC Color Mixer Came About

A few months ago, I purchased a set of Sarah Renae Clark's Color Cube cards and immediately went to work figuring out how to mix polymer clay primaries to make the colors on the cards.  I started out with a peacock card because, well, peacocks!

After working with the cards and the clay for a while, I thought, there has to be a way to use math (with some color theory and a bit of science) to come up with the color recipes.  Once I had that somewhat figured out, I thought, there needs to be an app for this!  How hard could that be?

Many years ago, I was a programmer and I've always kept up with technology to some extent.  So, I set about learning the process of creating an app, learning a new programming language and platform, and learning how to get an app into the app stores.

I have an amazing group of friends who agreed to help test the app by testing hundreds of colors and helping with feedback.  They've helped with suggestions, kept me on track, and reminded me to keep it simple and straightforward. Thank you.  You know who you are!

Now, the app is ready for primetime.  It is in the Apple App Store soon and, soon,  in the Google Play store!

You don't need the Color Cube cards to use the app, but they are an awesome tool that I highly recommend.   See Help for suggestions on where to find  hex color codes for the colors that you want to make.
